ABOUT

Yoga Teacher

I share practices and wisdom with curious minds so that a deep sense of connection and joy become the norm rather than the exception, even when life feels hard.

Spiritual Activist

I can support you with tools and techniques so you can show up as your best self in service of the causes you care most about.

I offer clear guidance for taking action.

Conscious Creativity Coach

I invite you to know and be your true self through asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophical contemplation and making art just for the fun of it.

I'm Shae

I moved home to the wild, windy coast of Portland (VIC) with my husband Marc when I was pregnant with our son Wren. That was five years ago now, wow!

Every day I am held up by my sadhana (conscious spiritual practice). Through the wisdom traditions and practices of yoga I take steps towards being the person I want to be for myself, my family, my friends, my community and the world.

I love dabbling and tinkering with arts and crafts to the soundtrack of Fleetwood Mac, or a kitschy musical (and I'll sing and dance with great pleasure!)

I love conversations that are real, masala chai, pottering about in the garden, snuggling with my son, salty sea air, talking to animals and the atmosphere of galleries, theatres and cafes.

My Story

I fell in love with yoga when I was working in not-for-profits, soon after I recovered from breast cancer treatment. The awareness I gained from my regular asana and pranayama practice was profound and the philosophy also began to shift everything for me. Eventually I decided to ditch the office and become a Yoga Teacher.

During my (almost) twenty years as a professional fundraiser and advocate, I worked with some of Australia's most-loved charities on many of the most recognisable awareness and fundraising campaigns. I also held numerous voluntary ambassador roles and was honoured with awards both locally and internationally. My masters is in international development and I have lots of travel tales.

One constant in my life has been creativity. Collage, cut-up poetry, cross-stitch, sewing, painting, drawing, pottery... you name it and I'll dabble! Like with a yoga practice, being creative is all about the process. Yes, there is likely an "end result," but the "doing" is where the magic is.

I have found the combination of yoga and creating art just for the fun of it is truly transformational. Add yoga and creativity to activism and BOOM! Hello to sustained energy for advocacy that has an impact.
